Mount Athos Area at Tour Salon Exhibition, Poznan
Beaches and summer: this is the combination of the image, that composes the Polish vacations’ model in Greece. That was the request from the tourism offices as it was presented during the visits we made to them in the International Tourism Fair of Tour Salon, held in Poznan of Poland, from 19th to 22th of October.
The exhibition attracted this year fewer exhibitors from the last year (from 787 in 2010 reached 710 in 2011), and respectively fewer visitors as well.
Participating as co-exhibitors with our member Meli Tours, we had contacts and meetings with two important Tour Operators, but with small agencies as well- which in their majority-have shown interest to our region.
Mount Athos Area was presented to the product managers of the bureaus:
- As a destination with concrete vacations proposals and activities,
- As a combination of island, summer and winter destination, which offers comparative advantages: religious and archaeological monuments, history, nature, culture, gastronomy, traditions, infrastructure….
That was certainly our goal: renegotiation of the professional relationships of the region with the Polish market, the potential for new cooperations, the presentation of the area;s lodgings, proposals and information for groups and individual agent clients.
We believe that we made it!
